Adventures Through The Hills
In 2012, I had moved to Rwanda with my family from Lagos— I was 12 years old. We lived here for 4 years, but ever since we left I always told myself that I would want to come back, maybe live here, or be retired.
So about roughly a year ago, on December 2024, I moved back to Kigali. So much has changed since the last time I was in Kigali— honestly that’s the beauty of it.
The other night I ate at a new Chinese hot pot place with some friends of mine. And I specifically remember when we were leaving and looked at the hills, I was in awe. Kigali at night when you’re sober, hits different. In many ways, with each glare it can feel like you see the past, present, and future. I’m sure there are people that understand what I mean.
One of my favourite things to do, as much as I enjoy living in Kigali, but I enjoy leaving it just as much. Roadtrips in Rwanda is just a special experience. literally, no matter where you go. The views always make you want to capture everything.
Rwanda is developing and quickly, but with all this development you still get a glimpse of the past in some places you go. And theres beauty in that.
